Bio
As a composer, Ms. Queen creates uplifting, danceable, kinesthetic music that both moves the dancers physically and moves audiences emotionally. Her dance scores have toured the U.S., Ireland, England, Uruguay, & Taiwan. Recent collaborations include: choreographers: Susan Douglas-Roberts, Von Howard Project at New York Live Arts; Bill Evans, The Rochester City Ballet at the Arts Center of Nazareth College; Darrah Carr Dance at the Irish Arts Center, NYC, and Ku & Dancers at the National Theatre of Taiwan.
As a multi-instrumentalist dance musician, Ms. Queen has collaborated with over 250 dance instructors in NYC & Chicago professional studios such as the Merce Cunningham and Gus Giordano Studios, at universities throughout the US, and at TNUA, Taiwan. She has been music faculty at the American Dance Festival (ADF) since 2006, and plays at the ADF, Henan in Xinxiang, China. She has performed with several noted American and international improvisational dance artists and has toured with the Taiwanese company, Ku & Dancers.
Healing Music & Movement
In her recent creative research, she integrates the principles of Qi Gong, an ancient Chinese healing energy practice, into music and movement to foster health and longevity in dancers.

Ms. Queen received her MFA degree from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University and her BA from Oberlin College.
Ms. Queen has won many awards including three International Fulbright Specialist Awards as a guest artist at Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA) and at TAIPEiDEA International Dance Elite Academy, and iDance 2015, Taiwan; three awards from the National Endowment for the Arts; and several Meet-the-Composer Awards.
As Associate Professor of Music for Dance at the University of North Texas, she teaches Music for Dancers, Choreography I, Composer/Choreographer Collaboration, Stress Reduction Through Movement, and trains musicians in the art of dance accompaniment. She is a guest artist at universities throughout the U.S. and internationally.
